In recent years I retrained as a social psychologist and neuroscientist. My speciality, if you can call it that, is psychopathy. Modern literature, television, and film focuses disproportionately on the darker side of human nature. It does seem to be where the drama and action lies. It fascinates most of us. It is the root of many fairy tales. Modern psychology tells us, it is better to prepare for the worst by imagining it in advance So, perhaps there is some utility in what seems to be a very self indulgent art form. Anyway, it is fun to write, and we should all be here for fun.
